Asthma Clinical Trial
For many people with asthma, even a well-managed treatment plan does not fully stop the wheezing, tightness, or shortness of breath. SMS Clinical Research is enrolling participants in a study evaluating an investigational asthma treatment for those who do not achieve adequate relief with current medication. If that sounds familiar, our team can talk you through whether this study might be a fit.
What the Study Involves
This trial evaluates an investigational asthma treatment. Participants can expect:
Lung Function Testing: Spirometry measures how well the airways are working.
Symptom Tracking: A daily diary records symptoms and rescue inhaler use.
Clinic Visits: Exams and a review of asthma control at each visit.
Safety Monitoring: Close attention to any side effects during treatment.
Eligibility Requirements
This study has its own specific criteria. Participants generally need to meet the following:
- Meet the age range set by the study, commonly 12 or 18 and older.
- Have a history of persistent, severe asthma for at least 12 months before screening.
- Currently use a rescue inhaler, and in many cases a daily controller medication.
- Have not had an asthma-related hospitalization or emergency visit in recent months, and are willing to complete lung function testing and keep a symptom diary.
If you are not sure whether you qualify, a short screening call with our team can confirm it.
Benefits of Participation
Participating requires time and effort, and eligible participants may receive compensation as described by the study team.
- Time and Travel Support: You will be compensated for your time for study visits. Rideshare transportation can be arranged for assistance at no cost to you.
- Regular Lung Care: Regular spirometry and health checks, at no cost to you.
- Advancing Asthma Research: Data from this study helps shape treatment options for people whose asthma is not well controlled today.
Study Goals
The main goal is to see whether this treatment improves asthma symptom control and lung function compared with current standard approaches. The study also tracks safety and gathers data on how well participants tolerate treatment over time.
